Project Type
Web Design
As the Director of Design for TEDxRutgers, I am spearheading a web design and development project for our organization’s website. This project began in July 2023, and is projected to finish by June 2024. This project involves the collaboration of multiple teams including: design, marketing, technology, finance, and electoral.

Conflictions and Concerns
TED mandates a strict visual branding even in affiliated organizations. This creates little freedom for exploration and experimentation. In order to ensure that the visual identity aligned with TED and TEDxRutgers, I organized a group of key design elements.
User Stories

The current website is outdated and not well maintained. The layout of the Events section is off centered and unorganized. It takes me some time to find the panel I want.
I want to completely change the visual identity of the organization. The current website has no personality and flair. I also dislike the repetitive social icons. They should all be together in one place.

I think there is too much unnecessary navigation in the current website. A lot of the information can be condensed or placed together. The photo gallery is also not so easily accessible. I would like the gallery to be within the same site rather than another website.
Styleguides &
Breakdowns
Using the styleguides from TED and the user inputs, I was able to map out some desired design elements, layouts, and visuals.
